The Ambassadors to Libya of France, the United Kingdom and the United States condemn strongly the escalation of violence in the oil crescent and call for an immediate cease-fire.
We recall the urgent need for a unified national military force under civilian command in order to preserve the security and prosperity of all Libyans. We reaffirm the need to keep oil infrastructure, production, and export under the exclusive control of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) acting under the authority‎ of the Government of National Accord (GNA).

With regards to recent events at the NOC’s headquarters office in Tripoli, we call on all parties to cease provocative actions against NOC employees and avoid damage to NOC facilities.  As a Libyan national economic institution, the NOC must remain under the sole stewardship of the GNA, and Libya’s resources must be used for the benefit of all Libyans.

We recall our commitment to enforce international restrictive measures to help support peace, stability and security in Libya. Individuals or entities misusing Libyan resources may be targeted by such measures.

We continue to support political reconciliation and the Government of National Accord's efforts in this regard as well as those of UNSMIL and neighbouring countries.
